Vehicle Description

This 1981 Porsche 911SC is a non-sunroof coupe finished in Wine Red Metallic over beige and powered by an RoW 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include Weber carburetors, an MSD electronic ignition, and a Dansk sport muffler, as well as 16″ Fuchs wheels, a ducktail rear decklid, Euro-style headlight rings, and an Alpine CD player. Service in preparation for the sale reportedly included changing the oil, spark plugs, and clutch cable, along with rebuilding the alternator and resealing the carburetors. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2015, this 911SC shows 101k miles and is now offered with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, factory literature, a tool roll, maintenance records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean South Carolina title.The car was refinished in the factory Wine Red Metallic (895) in January 2015. An aftermarket ducktail rear decklid was also fitted at that time, and additional features include a front spoiler, body-color side mirrors, Euro-style headlight rings, and a Dansk sport muffler. Stone chips and scratches are depicted in the gallery below.Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels with color-keyed centers wear 205/55 and 225/50 Kumho Ecsta ASX tires showing 2008 date codes. The windows have been tinted, and aftermarket graphics are present on the doors and rear deck lid.The cabin features beige seats and door panels with matching carpets and a replacement upper dash. Amenities include power windows, a cassette tape magazine, an Alpine head unit, and aftermarket speakers. Service in 2020 included refurbishing the pedal cluster, as well as replacing the fuses and clutch cable. A MOMO steering wheel frames a central tachometer and a 170-mph speedometer in addition to gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 101k miles, approximately 600 of which have been added by the seller. An RoW 3.0-liter flat-six was reportedly installed by Doc’s Grrrage in Lexington, South Carolina, and is equipped with dual Weber carburetors and an MSD ignition system. Service during previous ownership reportedly included a valve job, replacing the cylinder head studs, and rebuilding the distributor. Maintenance in 2020 is said to include changing the oil and spark plugs, as well as rebuilding the alternator and resealing the carburetors. Aftermarket heat exchangers are fitted, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transaxle. Oil seepage is noted, and additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery.The July 2020 Carfax report begins in February 1995 and indicates no accidents or other damage. Registration history is shown in Florida, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina through the most recent entry in 2010.
